About Us
Sapphire Villa is owned by Dianne and David Purdie, and David’s mother Ruby who live in West Sussex on the south coast of England. Dianne is an American citizen from Florida who moved to England in 2000 to marry David. (We met on match.com!) David and Ruby are Scottish but have lived in England for the past 50 years.
Sapphire Villa was purchased as a place to retire to that offers year round sun, low cost of living, excellent medical care, a real native experience (not touristy), and of course safe from crime and other worries. As the cost of living is so high in England, we were looking for a place where our money could go much further and assure us of a good quality of life. As the prices to purchase were so low, we made an offer to purchase on our first visit which was happily accepted. We spent another third of the purchase price again on renovating the villa and everything is now new and beautiful.
Now we visit twice a year and offer our home to you the rest of the time.
